Dear Friends and Colleagues,

We would like to invite you to the 10th edition of the BAU congress, BAU2010.

The yearly meeting of the Belgian Association of Urology (BAU) will take place at the beautiful Aula Magna in Louvain-la-Neuve, on Friday 10 and Saturday 11 December of this year.

“Crossing the borders”, the theme of this year, indicates that we will go beyond the domain of urology; the second congress day will be a joint meeting with the Belgian Society of Nephrology.

The first congress day will start with a brief report of the different BAU working groups. The programme will be continued with sessions on Bladder Cancer, Localized Prostate Cancer and Advanced Prostate Cancer. All these themes will be discussed by Belgian as well as foreign faculty. This gives the occasion to share knowledge with colleagues, also from abroad.

Like every year, the residents are invited to present their work in the form of a poster. This will lead to the poster contest and the poster quiz. Also the urological nurses will be present again. More information on their congress will be available very soon on the Urobel website www.urobel.be.

Starting from Saturday morning, the congress will handle topics that interest both urologists and nephrologists. Topics such as Renal Sparing, Congenital Disease and Lithiasis will be discussed by faculty from both specialties.

No yearly meeting without social events: On Friday evening, the Farm of Profondval will be the décor of the gala dinner. For the partners, a guided tour will be arranged on Saturday to discover Louvain-la-Neuve, a city which nobody knows the real beauties of… A French-speaking, as well as a Dutch-speaking guide will be foreseen. The programme of Saturday afternoon will be closed with a visit to the Musée Hergé, on walking distance of the Aula Magna. All of you are welcome to join!
